Country for the Kids

On March 23rd, 2017, among family and friends, the Inspire Mexico Foundation hosted its annual fundraiser, Country For Kids, to develop The Los Cabos Youth Center, the first of its kind in Mexico. Greeted by member and volunteers from local charities, guests came together in a night full of charitable spirit. The fantastic event took place at the Mango Grove in Flora Farms, where everyone enjoyed dinner, live auction and danced the night away to performances by country-western artists, Sarah and Patrick Thomas, and Nashville-based band Merging Blue. Country For Kids raised an incredible $1.5 US Million, through the generous donations. The Youth Center, a project supported by Inspire Mexico, will bring like-minded organizations working in the field of education under one roof; Gente Joven Por Un Cambio, Mobilize Mankind, The Boys and Girls Club of Mexico, Los Cabos first food bank, and a hospitality school. Through IMF’s local partner, Ilumíname, A.C., the center is scheduled to open its doors to the Future of Los Cabos by the second quarter of 2018.

Mario Testino: The Man Who Makes Models Super

For Mario Testino, the transition from a well-situated Peruvian Catholic boy studying Economics, Law and International Affairs to renowned fashion and portrait photographer came about when he moved to England in 1976.

His first model work appeared in Vogue in 1983. Since then his work has been featured internationally in magazines such as V Magazine, Vanity Fair, GQ and of course, Vogue.

“Fashion photography is this uneasy mix of art and commerce and I think nobody understands this better than Mario.”
– Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour

His A-list royal and popstar portraiture portfolio includes Madonna, Lady Gaga and his highly praised series of Diana, Princess of Wales. He claims his secret to success is being yourself, and when photographing, finding the subject’s self.

His obsession, “I am obsessed by people. Usually I try to get the girl out of the model instead of the model out of the girl.”

In the early nineties, he was bored with the au courant models and the result led to using models Gisele Bündchen and Kate Moss, precipitating theirs, and his own, journey to superstar prominence.

Testino’s gift is evident in the results he achieves. He has gained the trust of the world’s most noted person ages and royal family members by making them feel comfortable and almost unaware of the camera while emphasizing their essential selves.

In addition to his high profile work, Testino exhibits in solo shows and is a large supporter of charities. He was presented with an honorary OBE in 2014 in recognition of his career and charity work.
