Ocean Blue World Sets the Stage at the 2018 Los Cabos International Film Festival

OCEAN BLUE WORLD CELEBRATES CINEMATIC HISTORY AT THE 2018 LOS CABOS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Early November, Los Cabos was once again the cinematic hub setting the scene for the Los Cabos International Film Festival. This 4-day gala full of must-see commended films, gathered together hundreds of world-renowned directors, producers, actors and actresses, as well as media and fans to showcase the finest in the film and television industry from the Mexican, U.S, Canadian and Latin American markets. Under the guidance of Executive Director Alejandra Paulín, and Artistic Director Maru Garzón, the curtain proudly rose for this year’s 7^th Edition.

Ocean Blue World, alongside Engel & Völkers Snell Real Estate, both big believers in the importance and relevance of supporting legendary film art, were honored to once more be a part of this exciting event. Ocean Blue World´s exclusive #BlueRoom was the luxury lounge for industry experts to relax, indulge and enjoy the flavorful hors d’oeuvres presented by Los Tamarindos, the organic farm-to-table restaurant. Both the Opening and Closing Galas elegantly paid tribute to guests of honor Piers Handling, Terry Gilliam, Spike Lee, and Adam Driver for their exceptional contribution to cinema history, and was enjoyed by a line-up of industry-acclaimed stars including Aida López, Dario Yazbek, Leonardo de Lozanne, Sandra Echeverría, and more. Ocean Blue World Productions went #BehindTheScenes during the week´s red carpet moments capturing exclusive footage of never-before-seen movie screenings, press conferences, private galas and celebrations.

As the final element, Ocean Blue World was proud to host VIP festival guests aboard the Ocean Blue branded yacht for an #OceanBlueExperience over a light champagne breakfast and breathtaking ocean views right in the heart of Los Cabos´ Sea of Cortez.

The 7th edition of the renowned film fest welcomed a number of celebrities and prominent industry professionals to beautiful Los Cabos, Mexico. Ocean Blue Productions went #BehindTheScenes to capture the celebrities on and off the Red Carpet. Enjoy!

The opening ceremony featured the Latin-American premiere of The Favourite (Dir. Yorgos Lanthimos), and the closing ceremony showed the screening of Blackkklansman (Dir. Spike Lee). The legendary Spike Lee also received the Exceptional Contribution to Cinema History Tribute. Actor Adam Driver received the Outstanding Work in Cinema recognition.

For Outstanding Work in the Film Industry, this award was presented to Piers Handling, executive director of the Toronto International Film Festival for 23 years.

Terry Gilliam, screenwriter, director, actor and comedian, also received a tribute for Exceptional Contribution to Cinema History.
