Ashowcase of golf’s greatest players, the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship brought fans, partners, the media, and the international community together to watch the world´s best.
Returning for its fourth year at the Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City, the tournament included a 72-player field represented by 19 countries and made up of 42 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Marking the second of four World Golf Championships of the 2019-20 PGA TOUR Season, this year´s Mexico Championship title victory went to Patrick Reed, moving aside defending champion Dustin Johnson. “I felt like I had something to prove to myself coming into this week,” says Reed, after his now eighth TOUR title win. After getting it on the green, he left it up to the putter, and the putter delivered.
Abraham Ancer, top golfer in the field from Mexico, said “This is my favorite week of the year, I love playing in front of my people. The food and hospitality of Mexico does not compare with any other.” Inspiring, engaging, and positively impacting the destination of Mexico and the growth of the game in the country, next year´s World Golf Championships- Mexico Championship is set to once again, lead the field.
