His mark on cinema has been indelible. His score for 1977’s Star Wars was selected by the American Film Institute as the greatest score of all time, and his music has accompanied
the entire franchise, as well as such films as Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, E.T. the Extra- Terrestrial, the Indiana Jones films, the first two Jurassic Park films, and the first three Harry Potter films, to name just a few.
Despite his prolific career, Williams remains a very busy conductor and composer. He’s written the theme for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi and is scoring the new Indiana Jones installment as well as a new Steven Spielberg film, The Fabermans.
Here’s hoping Williams continues to provide the soundtrack to our lives for many years to come.
