s the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and model-turned-businessman Rande Gerber, the stunning dark-haired teen is ridiculously genetically blessed and it is no surprise that she would turn to modeling.
What is surprising is one of her favorite extracurricular activities.

The 18-year-old rising runway star began her career at age 10 with the Young Versace campaign, and has since walked for fashion greats such as Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Coach, Prada, Chanel, Fendi,
Moschino, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, and Versace, and was named Model of the Year at the 2018 Fashion Awards.
But there’s more to Gerber than just a pretty face. Earlier this year she took to Instagram to start an online book club and invited her 5.7 million (and counting) followers to read along and join in the weekly Instagram live discussions.
She also shared a list of 18 books she has recently enjoyed, including A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, Perfume by Patrick Süskind, A Lover’s Discourse by Roland Barthes and Plato’s Symposium.
Not exactly the light reading you would expect for an up-and- coming supermodel, but an indication that like her mother before her, Kaia Gerber will continue to defy expectations and redefine what it means to be a model, all on her own terms.
“A lot of people ask me what my mom has taught me about modeling. The truth is the things she teaches me go deeper than what pose to make or what my good side is.”
