 It starts with the mastermind and innovation behind it all — Frederic Vidal. As Managing Director of this iconic resort and Regional Vice President for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, his influence is
impressive and long-lasting with countless stories from staff members and guests alike who have been positively impacted by his active presence and direction in providing the Las Ventanas al Paraíso experience. His go-to proverb, centered around the idea that one should always be reinventing, supports the notion of balancing the original DNA and authenticity of the Baja California Sur culture with a continual transformation of the needs and demands from today’s guests and homeowners. “The day you stop reinventing yourself, you die,” says Vidal, and it’s this “constant searching and sourcing for that next meaningful creation that allows perfection to thrive.”
One story he shared was his love for Mexico’s Oaxaca region inspired after assisting the owner, Ty Warner, in the decoration of his mansion. His desire to recreate and bring a taste of Oaxaca to the resort itself resulted in the relocation of a top local chef who connects travelers with Oaxacan fantasy at the new Alebrije restaurant.
