Daniel Buren’s work is distinguished by his critical use of an abstract
minimalist aesthetic focusing on concrete space not image representation.
Buren’s production was defined by the end of the 60’s with a tendency towards
institutional criticism; later on, towards an integration of contemporary art in
historical spaces through in situ installations and monumental interventions in
buildings and urban settings.
