I nternational mainstream and indie
film queen, fashion muse and model,
performance artist, Scottish resident
and patriot; Tilda Swinton is known
for her unique blend of savoir faire, intelligence
and beauty worldwide. Swinton’s androgynous,
long-limbed body and majestically sculpted
visage, oft sought after by the best fashion
designers, come from her Scottish roots which
she accredits for her good looks.

"I’m not much of one for looking in the
mirror. If I look good, it’s to do with good
genes, living in the Highlands of Scotland,
not wearing make-up when I don’t have to,
and just the luck of the draw.

On the iconic androgyne, David Bowie’s
website it is stated about “The Stars (Are Out
Tonight)" promotional video in which Tilda
Swinton plays David Bowie’s wife, that it "…
at once captures a 21st-Century moment in its
convergence of age, gender and the normal/
celebrity divide.” The same could be said for
Swinton.
