I t appears that single-handedly Jeff Bezos
has effectively changed the way we shop.
People barely recollect that the man,
now just over 50 years old, introduced
a new way to buy books at the amazing Amazon
virtual bookstore. The Amazon book business
began in 1995 in Bezos’ Seattle basement. His
Princeton degree in computer science and
electrical engineering and financial investment
experience, plus a few employees, created the
vision and developed the software that changed
the game of online purchasing.

his initial investment, Bezos diversified. Amazon,
working directly with retailers, offered compact – Jeff Bezos
discs and videos in 1998, and later clothes,

$510,000 U.S. in 1995 to over $17 billion in 2011.
