S ince winning Plácido Domingo’s
Operalia Singing Competition in
2005, Chacón-Cruz’ career has
spiraled upwardly. His repertoire
spans from Bellini and Donizetti to Puccini
and Verdi. Plácido Domingo, as well as Ramón
Vargas, two of today’s reigning opera singers,
encourage and mentor the talented and
handsome tenor.
Recently he performed as Jacopo Foscari in The
Two Foscari at Theater an der Wien in Vienna
opposite Plácido Domingo, and in the title role
of The Tales of Hoffmann in Tokyo. He also
appeared in concert as Faust in Mephistopheles
with the Collegiate Chorale at Carnegie Hall.
