L’Art de la cuisine Presented By L’Ôtel Doce-18

During the festivities of the first edition of the MAG Gastronomic Festival, Dôce 18 Concept House presented L’art de la cuisine, being part of Petit Committee, a series of exclusive events organized by MAG last July 13 to 18, where Chefs Patrick Cros, Olivier Deboise and Emmanuelle Deboise delighted the guests with delicious dishes that were complemented by pairings presented by Casa Dragones, which served to accompany the first time; As well as the presence of the Champagne Moët & Chandon, which accompanied the following times, while the welcome cocktails were made with berries and Cognac Hennessy XO. The chefs gave the French accent to this dinner that was hosted by the iconic boutique hotel LÔtel, a place where the best of Mexican design, gastronomy and art live together.

To begin with, Chef Oliver Deboise prepared some delicious oysters prepared with strong root snow and seaweed, soy and ginger shitakes with cider vinegar, echalote, tarragon au gratin with ramonetti cheese as well as a meuniére horse mackerel with aubergine caviar.

On the other hand, Chef Patrick Cros cooked a delicious duck confined with foie gras and cashew mole with raisin and a steak of venison accompanied by sautéed zetas, babies greens and salad of sprouts, while Chef Emmanuelle Deboise delighted the palates of all diners with a dessert of roasted figs with lavender collected from L’Ôtel’s vegetable garden, mozzarella and crunchy olive oil.

Also, the guests could enjoy the mixology of the renowned bartender Moses Sierra who prepared different drinks to consent to all involved; Moses intervened the cocktail with the distillates Mezcal Danzantes and Ron La Gloria Añejo Cristalino; The whole dinner was engalanada with the presence of the water Bui, arisen of the Nevado de Toluca.

During this event, the Mexican artist Arantza X Rodríguez was invited to intervene the dinner tablecloths where she painted different colored fractals (geometrical figures that are repeated in different scales) with which she sought to transmit a spiritual message. Arantxa intervened the plate of the second time, which served to iron the duck confit, this work was a collaboration with Chef Patrick Cros and used vegetable shortening as an essential element.

Also, AXR had the opportunity to exhibit their art in a temporary exhibition in the lobbies of L’Ôtel.

Christian Louboutin Releases Mexicaba Tote in Support of Yucatan Artisans

World renowned fashion designer, Christian Louboutin is celebrating Mexican craftsmanship with this latest handbag project, MEXICABA. The vivid totes were designed in partnership with the artisans, Taller Maya, a foundation that works to preserve traditional, local craftsmanship and ensure the long-term economic empowerment of Mayan artisans. Reflecting the beautiful Yucatan history and culture, Louboutin teamed with the artists to create these astonishing pieces made of handwoven cotton panels, stunning embroidery and traditional hand-painted beads.

This collaboration was made possible through the social enterprises program of Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya who assists Taller Maya in creating a sustainable and healthy system of production. Fundación Haciendas del Mundo Maya facilitates material to build the workshops where the artisans work, learn from each other, develop their creativity and forge a sense of community.

The AeroMobil Flying Car – Redefining Transportation Boundaries

The future of travel is here. Flying transportation is being made a reality thanks to the advanced Slovakian engineering company, AeroMobil. Oaxaca Aerospace Achieves Two Major Milestones at FAMEX 2017

Oaxaca Aerospace has unveiled its second prototype aircraft, completely designed and developed in Mexico, the Pegasus P-400T. Released at the Mexico 2017 Aerospace Fair (FAMEX 17), The P-400T has been designed to perform air support missions, reconnaissance, coordination of attacks, surveillance and advanced training exercises.

The Pegasus P-400T uses a 400-horsepower twin-turbo reciprocating engine and a variable-pitch driven propeller, which makes it more efficient compared to other aircraft used for the same missions, offering considerable savings in operating costs. Thanks to its innovative design and aerodynamic fuselage, the aircraft can reach a maximum speed of 550 km/h, a service ceiling of 24 thousand feet, a range of 2000 km and autonomy of 5 hours. It also has a reinforced retractable landing gear ideal for pilot training.

In addition to the aircraft’s official release at FAMEX 2017, Oaxaca Aerospace and The Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) signed a collaboration agreement aiming to boost scientific research, technology development and aeronautic innovation in the State of Oaxaca. This agreement additionally involves aircraft maintenance services, expansion and manufacturing of equipment for land support and orientation for patent registration.

The collaboration is historical achievement that will generate a great boost to the national aeronautical industry. Oaxaca Aerospace plans to complete the development of the P-400T in the first quarter of 2018 to begin with the test protocol.

Apple’s Sir Jonathan Paul Ive, KBE

Sir Jonathan Ive (Jony) is Apple’s Chief Design Officer. His extensive area of responsibility includes all design at Apple including the look and feel of Apple hardware, user interface, packaging, major architectural projects such as Apple Campus 2 and Apple’s retail stores, as well as new ideas and future initiatives.

The creative mastermind, developer of over 5000 patents is right at home at the Apple epicenter where his basic approach to design is that the look and feel of an object directly equates to its appeal. He applies this approach not only to how the object looks externally but to every part of its internal mechanisms and programming.

The hottest new designer on Mexico City’s catwalks is Kris Goyri. He is a graduate from Casa de Francia’s Institute of Advanced Studies in Fashion. He began working in the fashion industry designing a ready-to-wear clothing line for women. It was there he learned about the business side of fashion and extended his intrinsic knowledge of textiles and textures.

In 2008 Goyri received the international award for New Mexican talent from Elle magazine. That same year he had his first fashion show where he captivated the leading international fashion editors’ attention and began to have his work published in: Elle, Bazaar, Vogue, Glamour, In Fashion, Glow, Caras, and NYLON among others.

He then expanded his design portfolio by completing a Master’s degree at Barcelona’s Istituto Europeo di Design where he specialized in footwear and accessories.

The up-and-coming young designer’s most recent timeless collections including his 2016 Resort collection and this year’s Autumn-Winter and Spring-Summer shows have been enthusiastically received.

“Elegant, fresh, natural and simply beautiful,” is how Goyri defines his couture. Tailored to accentuate a woman’s beauty, his collections are superbly constructed works of wearable art created with naturally exquisite materials such as silk, linen and cotton and a rich color palette.
