PGA TOUR Los Cabos: A New Benchmark for Elevated Golf & Lifestyle

When the World Wide Technology Championship PGA TOUR—known widely as the PGA TOUR Los Cabos—returns each fall, it draws the eyes of the golf world to one of Mexico’s most spectacular destinations. Set against the dramatic landscapes of the Baja California Peninsula, the 2025 edition of PGA TOUR Los Cabos, held from November 6–9 at El Cardonal at Diamante, reaffirmed Los Cabos’s status as a premier stage for world-class golf, architectural mastery, and refined hospitality.

A Championship of Distinction

From the outset, PGA TOUR Los Cabos has distinguished itself as a marquee event in the fall swing of the PGA TOUR. The 2025 tournament was contested over 72 holes of stroke play at El Cardonal, a par-72 layout measuring 7,452 yards and designed by Tiger Woods and his TGR Design team.

In this year’s event, a field of 120 elite players competed for the title, with Ben Griffin emerging victorious and setting a new 72-hole scoring record for the World Wide Technology Championship. The previous record of 27, set by Erik van Rooyen in 2023, was eclipsed as Griffin closed the week at 29-under 259.

Griffin sealed the victory with a brilliant final-round 63 (–9) to win by two strokes. The triumph marked his third PGA TOUR title of 2025, placing him in elite company alongside Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy as one of only three players with three or more victories this season.

His composure under pressure defined the final day. Over 72 holes, Griffin recorded 30 birdies, one eagle, and only three bogeys. With five straight birdies beginning at the 8th hole—including a 40-foot putt on the 11th—he surged ahead of challengers Sami Välimäki and Chad Ramey, who tied for second. His performance not only set a tournament-low scoring record but also elevated him to a career-best No. 9 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

After making a few birdies early, I kind of pushed myself to keep the pedal down,” Griffin said following his win. “The putter heated up, and it was fun feeling the nerves down the stretch.”

Such a performance reinforced the event’s standing as more than just a stop on the PGA TOUR calendar—it’s a high-stakes, highly refined experience for both players and premium guests.

Setting & Style: El Cardonal at Diamante

If one were to sum up PGA TOUR Los Cabos in design and setting terms, the phrase “meticulously crafted” comes close. El Cardonal follows the contours of Baja California Sur’s coastline, weaving together elevated landing zones, dramatic bluff views of the Pacific, and seamless transitions between desert scrub and ocean basalt.

As 2024 World Wide Technology Championship PGA TOUR winner Austin Eckroat told Global Golf Post, “When you first come on property the first thing that you see are the unbelievable views out here at Diamante… and on the course when the wind starts to pick up it becomes a really good test.”

Beyond the course itself, the setting at Diamante Cabo San Lucas integrates championship golf with exceptional hospitality. Luxury villas, private residences, and oceanfront amenities surround the fairways, giving the event a resort-style polish without compromising the spirit of competitive play. The Experience Beyond the Scorecard

While the competition headlined this past week, the prestige of PGA TOUR Los Cabos lies equally in its broader experience. The week encompassed much more than competition. From VIP hospitality to curated off-course moments, the event fashioned itself as an invitation to the elite lifestyle that Los Cabos promises.

  • Pro-Am and short-game clinics welcomed select guests into the tournament’s rhythm.
  • The “Fan Zone,” health and wellness boot-camp sessions (“ModuVated Fitness Bootcamp”) and gourmet food experiences brought components often reserved for bespoke resort residencies into the format of a sporting event.
  • Family-friendly activations and First Tee Diamante youth clinics brought the next generation into the game, blending fun, learning, and inspiration on the greens.
  • Economic Impact: PGA TOUR Los Cabos drives significant growth in the tourism sector, boosting visitor numbers and hotel occupancy across the region. The tournament generates an estimated $25 million USD in economic impact each year.

For prospective homeowners, seasonal residents, or villa-owners in Los Cabos, PGA TOUR Los Cabos serves as both a cultural and social milestone—a week when the destination is at its utmost refinement. The fairways of professional golf become a backdrop for elevated living.
