ON THE MOVE
Andrew Garfield’s ABrilliant Year
ny one of the three movies Andrew Garfield has starred in recently would have been a career-maker for a lesser-known actor. Spider- Man: No Way Home (his third film playing the
arachnoid superhero) grossed upwards of $1.89 billion at the box office worldwide. The Eyes of Tammy Faye, in which Garfield played disgraced televangelist Jim Bakker, scored a dozen awards, including a Best Actress Oscar for Garfield’s costar Jessica Chastain. And Garfield himself was an Oscar contender in the Best Actor category for his role as Jonathan Larson in the biographical musical drama Tick, Tick...Boom!

Garfield, 38, was born in the United States and raised in the U.K., and celebrates his dual nationality. During his childhood, he was raised on British television and American cinema and
says he feels right at home in both countries. A veteran of 20 films, he is also equally adept on stage and won a Tony Award for his role in 2018’s Angels in America on Broadway.
Garfield can act, dance, sing, and sling webs with the best of them, so expect much, much more from this up-and- coming performer.
“IF I CAN KEEP LOSING MYSELF — AND FINDING PARTS OF MYSELF — IN OTHER PEOPLE'S WRITING AND DIRECTION, THEN THAT'S ALL I CAN REALLY ASK FOR. THAT'S ALL I WANT, TO KEEP LOSING MYSELF.”
