ON THE MOVE
“DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE'S CONVERSATIONS ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING OR WHAT YOU'VE DONE BE PART OF YOUR OWN CONVERSATION.”
Kristen Stewart is having a fantastic 2022, both personally and professionally.
Not only is she engaged, but she’s also earned a well-deserved Oscar nod for her uncanny portrayal of the late Princess Diana in 2021’s Spencer.
Her performance in that film is mesmerizing, almost as if a hologram of the late princess had come to life. Stewart matched her voice, mannerism, posture and angst in a role that, in retrospect, she seems born to play.
Yet there have been many such roles in the 32-year-old actress’s career, which has spanned more than two decades.
Stewart, a native of Los Angeles, first commanded attention when she was just 12 years old, playing opposite Jodie Foster in 2002’s Panic Room, which garnered her a Young Artist Award nomination. She has been captivating audiences ever since, whether it be in Sean Penn’s Into the Wild (2011), her immensely popular portrayal of Bella Swan in the Twilight series, or her magnetic performance in The Clouds of Sils Maria, for which she won a Cesar Award in 2015, the first American actress to have been nominated for the award in three decades.
With 47 films under her belt thus far, audiences can rejoice in the certainty that Stewart’s got plenty more spellbinding performances yet to come.
