h yes she is! Even though Margot Elise Robbie was part
of a major ensemble cast in Suicide Squad featuring Will
Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, and Cara
O Delevingne, Robbie was the one to watch. I even liked the
premise: a secret government agency recruits imprisoned super-villains to
save the world from a powerful threat. Of course, in exchange for reduced
sentences, it’s a win-win scenario. More than that, it was a fun story about
second chances, doing the right thing, and teamwork, all set in a backdrop
of action and adventure.
Robbie was born in Queensland, Australia, to Scottish parents where she
and her three siblings were raised by their mother, and spent much of their
time on a family farm. Robbie later moved to Melbourne, Australia to pursue
an acting career where she got her start in the soap opera genre, and in no
time was nominated for two Logie awards. She then decided to make her
life-changing move to Hollywood and made her big screen debut in 2013, in
the film About Time. However, the role where she really caught our attention
and rose to fame was when she co-starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in
Martin Scorsese's Oscar nominated film, The Wolf of Wall Street.
The rising star´s next big move, in 2014, was founding her own production
company, LuckyChap Entertainment, which in no way slowed down her
acting. A chameleon on the screen, she has appeared in a variety of roles
including the World War II romantic-drama film, Suite Française, the
romantic comedy-drama, Focus alongside Will Smith, Z for Zachariah.
Robbie had a cameo in The Big Short, starred as Jane Porter in The Legend
of Tarzan, and portrayed figure skater Tonya Harding in the biographical
film I, Tonya which received critical acclaim and Academy Award, Golden
Globe, SAG, and BAFTA nominations for best actress.
She does it all. Actress, producer, brand ambassador, most recently for the
luxury fashion brand, Chanel. She has been named one of the 100 most
influential people in the world by TIME magazine, in addition to being
featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. I find her accomplishments truly
inspirational.
