        collection as Dior’s creative

        for the amalgamation of
Dior’s classic couture with Chiuri’s fun and
frolicking vision. Chiuri is the first woman to
hold the lead role in the famed couture house
in its 70-year history. For Chiuri, haute couture
is, first and foremost, about women. As Dior’s
Creative Director, Chiuri’s goal is to maintain a
certain sense of feminine, true to the nature of
Dior yet loyal to her sense of today’s feminine
ideal.

Chiuri was born in Rome, studied fashion and
spent three decades working in that city, first at
Fendi, then for 17 years as co-creative director
of the house of Valentino. Chiuri’s husband,
also in the fashion industry is Paolo Regini, a
bespoke shirtmaker.

Chiuri’s biggest successes to date include the
fun redefinition of the Dior logo, the branding
of J’adior, and a T-shirt that quotes the activist
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie stating “We
Should All Be Feminists.”

“When you are a woman making
clothes for women, fashion is not
just about how you look, but how

        you feel and think.”
