Vision Takes Shape
V&A Dundee Museum of Design
fter years of planning and construction, the much-
anticipated V&A Dundee Museum of Design is finally
ready to welcome its first visitors. V&A Dundee is
A founded by the Victoria and Albert Museum and
designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The building is
Scotland’s first design museum and seeks to highlight the international
importance of design, and at the same time present Scotland’s outstanding
achievements in this field. The project, which took three and a half years
to complete, stands at the center of a £1 billion transformation of the
Dundee waterfront, once part of the city’s docklands.
