Casa Cielo Azul
Thoughtful Contemporary Design
Canadian Architect magazine described Casa Cielo Azul, a contemporary second-row home in Zacatitos, Mexico as “refreshingly original, taking notions of inhabitation and environmental control back to their creative fundamentals.”
This is the third in a series of notable projects in Mexico completed by Vancouver-based architecture and design firm Campos Leckie Studio, who with a mind to minimize heat gain and promote passive ventilation, utilized concrete-reinforced insulation panels and a double-wall system, carefully oriented in relation to the sun and prevailing breezes. Placement of the home on the crest of a hill makes maximum effect of the stunning local East Cape, California Baja Sur views that span from the interior Baja mountain ranges to the west to the Sea of Cortez to the east.
