ATP makes another stop in Los Cabos
Los Cabos (The Capes) consists of two cities, Cabo San Lucas where the Sea
of Cortéz greets the Pacific, and San Jose del Cabo, a 20-mile stretch of truly
breathtaking beaches. With a something-for-everyone mentality, Los Cabos as a
vacation destination simply can’t be beat. From July 31st to August 5th this year,
natural and manmade wonders came together at the men’s tournament played
on outdoor hard courts, part of the ATP World Tour 250 series. This was the first
time in los Cabos for Tomáš Berdych, the 31-year-old Czech player who is one
of the world´s best players. It is the second year Los Cabos has hosted the event.
Ironman competitors tough it out in paradise
Where sea, desert and mountains intersect is the stage for this year’s Ironman
Los Cabos. Athletes kick off the one-day event with a 2.4-mile swim in the sky-
blue waters of the Sea of Cortez from San Jose del Cabo in Palmilla Beach. Next,
the group will bike a grueling 112 miles along a picturesque highway with rolling
terrain and seaside views. With the warm-up complete, these diehard contenders
will run 26.2 miles along a closed corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San
Jose del Cabo, overlooking stunning cliffside and desert scenery, making this
particular race one-of-a-kind.
Los Cabos will also host the annual International Film Festival in November.
