in the personable, larger-than-life
Michael Jordan as the cultural icon
of the century.
His unique moves, athleticism, competitiveness,
affable personality and bald-headed charm
have made Michael Jordan a household name
throughout the sports-minded, or not, world.
A description of his incredible career and his high-
scoring records does not give an accurate picture
of this player’s unmatchable first step, court
acrobatics and legendary baskets nor the fan-
based emotion generated by those who witnessed
the raw energy of this adored sportsman.
The former American basketball player led the
Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships. The six-
foot, six-inch small forward and shooting guard,
known alternatively as Air Jordan, His Airness,
MJ, and Money among other monikers, was born
in Brooklyn, New York in 1963.
