A nna Wintour, Officer of the Order of the
British Empire, is the English editor-in-chief of
American Vogue; a position she has held since
1988. Her magnitude in the fashion world is
not only attributable to her decisions, as is apparent with the
assessment of her contribution to the Met Gala, which the New
York Times covered with the headline “It´s called the Met Gala,
but it´s definitely Anna Wintour´s party.” Her influence extends
far beyond who and what to feature in Vogue but also with her
support of contemporary designers such as Marc Jacobs and
Alexander McQueen. “Fashion’s not about looking back. It’s
always about looking forward,” states Wintour.
